Susie was born in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and studied Art and Design Within a Social Context at Dartington College of Art and did a Masters in History of Modern Art and Design at Falmouth University. She has lived and worked in France, Canada, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Oman, Cornwall and Scotland. Susie continues to live and paint in Scotland.

The works in her latest exhibition at the Iona House Gallery in Woodstock, Oxon have been produced over the last 18 months and are a response to the West Coast of Scotland - Arisaig, Rhum and Eigg and also Debussy's 'La Mer'.  She visited the West Coast on a sea kayaking trip in 2019 and was fascinated and inspired by the weather. Unable to paint or photograph due to the fierce conditions, she was forced to mentally retain all, to be released later via the medium of music.  The title 'Symphonic Poem' suggests a musical interpretation of a landscape.

Susie B Lee was a finalist in the Scottish Landscape Painting Award, 2011.
